Inversion are those structural changes in chromosomes, where a segment of a chromosome has a reverse order of a gene relative to a normal order.

- In this change the genes are not deleted or nothing do anything, just change the sequence of genes.
- There is no loss or gain in a gene.
- Generally there is no harm in chromosomes.
- If the cut has occurred in an important gene point then the gene can not be a functional that's why the gene produces a lethal gene.
Type of inversion
1. Pericentric Inversion: If the two breaks are in different arms then it is called Pericentric Inversion.

2. Paracentric Inversion: If the two breaks are in the same arms of a chromosome, then it is called Paracentric Inversion.
