To gain a segment of a chromosome in the genome is called duplication.
- So that the individual caring for such a duplication will be called a hyperploid.
There are some types of duplication:
- Tandem or repeat duplication.
- Displaced duplication.
- Reverse duplication.
Tandem/Repeat duplication:
At the adjoining position on the same arm on the same order.

Displaced Duplication:
On the same arm but another position on the arm(it can occur in the same or different chromosome).

Reverse duplication:
At the adjoining position on the same arm in the reverse order.
